The lightest adiPure ever created, adidas boast the new boot weighs an impressive 200grams. And after receiving a pair of UK8.5 at SoccerBible HQ, we can confirm this to be true. Thus setting a new benchmark in the boot market, especially when you consider the adiPure's closest rivals the Tiempo, Morelia and King.
The new adidas adiPure IV SL football boots utilise the F50 adizero last, which has a wider forefoot and midfoot, to incorporate the speed outsole and provide a comfortable fit.
Retaining the class of the adiPure, which has seen it become a modern day classic despite only being in it's fourth incarnation, the SL versions have a full K-leather upper. Soft and comfortable, the kangaroo leather offers great natural touch and feel for the ball from an upper that will shape to the foot.
The construction of the adiPure IV means less water uptake than previous incarnations, along with a lighter and more breathable upper, with consistent properties in both wet and dry conditions thanks also to the unique stitching patterns.
For comfort and a snug fit the adidas adiPure SL soccer cleats feature a padded super soft collar, complimented by a premium soft lining featuring anti-slip finishing for best fit. Whilst an ergonomically pre-molded sockliner with cushioning inserts in the heel provides a comfortable insole for under foot.
The revolutionary and lightweight Sprint Frame offers the same performance as the adizero Prime! This lightweight outsole is engineered to offer stability through geometry and lightweight materials, whlist providing optimum grip and stud pressure distribution on all surfaces.
The adiPure SL is an exclusive release and a range defining boot, for this reason the boots will arrive in special packaging which will include a shoe bag, cleaning cloth, shoe crème and leather hang tag with SL naming.
The adidas adiPure IV SL football boots are expected to only be available from selected retailers, and are on pre-sale now ahead of a 1st April release. As you might expect the Pure SL is an elite level boot, but the price tag is a reasonable one with the boots expected to retail for around £175 GBP/ $250 USD / €190 EURO / ¥23450 JPY.
